This version is not on the Chrome Web Store yet. Download and unzip it, then load the folder in Chrome using the steps below. Downloading the ZIP does not install the extension.

Install in Chrome

  1. Download and unzipDownload the ZIP above and extract it to a folder you will keep. Chrome will continue loading the extension from that folder.
  2. Open Chrome’s extension managerType chrome://extensions into Chrome’s address bar and turn on Developer mode. Chrome does not allow websites to open this settings page for you.
  3. Load and pin StudyismChoose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing manifest.json. Open Chrome’s extensions menu and pin Studyism Course Capture.
  4. Sign in and capture your first courseOpen Studyism from the extension and sign in. Then open your course page, click the Studyism icon in Chrome’s toolbar, and choose Scan current tab. If Chrome asks for site access, approve its request in the address bar or Extensions menu, then scan again. Repeat this when switching to a website you have not authorized.

From your course website to your study plan

  • Choose your materialsSelect page text, a syllabus, assignment instructions or linked PDFs. Use Scan links to find materials on a linked page. Choose one format when the same assignment has both PDF and HTML versions.
  • Download or send to StudyismSave files locally, send them to Studyism, or do both. Import a syllabus, create separate assignments, or group instructions and a rubric as one assignment.
  • Review before savingStudyism opens the matching import page. Choose Receive selected files, extract their details, select a class for assignments, and review before saving. Keep the receiving tab open; the transfer expires after 15 minutes.

What the extension can access

Scanning starts when you request it. Reading linked websites asks for site access as needed. Only the materials you select are sent to Studyism; your school’s passwords and login cookies are not sent to our servers.Webpages are saved as text documents, without diagrams or the original layout. Use the original PDF when those matter. For protected Ed or Canvas links, sign in and scan the actual assignment page.Up to 50 files per batch, 20 MB per file, and 40 MB per import group. This test version does not update automatically: download the latest ZIP, replace the files in your existing extension folder, and click Reload in Chrome’s extension manager.
